The Commercial Feed Regulatory Program (CFRP) has released a Notice to Industry notifying feed manufacturers, ingredient suppliers, and other industry partners that recent sampling of incoming corn shipments from several out‑of‑state sources has revealed elevated fumonisin concentrations. These levels exceed those typically observed in previous seasons and may present health risks to sensitive animal species if not appropriately managed.
CFRP recommends increased vigilance in testing, monitoring, and managing fumonisin levels in all incoming corn and finished feed products, particularly those intended for susceptible species. Further guidance and tolerance levels can be found in the Notice to Industry.
Further information about recent levels of fumonisin concentrations may be found in the newly released 2025 Crop Year Mycotoxin Report. The report details 61 samples of various feed analyzed for aflatoxin B1, B2, G1, G2, HT-2, zearalenone (F-2 Toxin), fumonisin B1, B2, B3, deoxynevalenol (vomitoxin), and ochratoxin.
