Veterinary Feed Directive Order Companion Portal Now Available

The Commercial Feed Regulatory Program (CFRP) and Safe Animal Feed Education (SAFE) Program in collaboration with UC Davis partner Food Animal Residue Avoidance Databank (FARAD) are proud to announce the launch of the Veterinary Feed Directive Order Companion (VFDOC) portal.

The VFDOC portal is the culmination of years of cooperative work developing a publicly available portal for the Feed Industry and its stakeholders to compare information provided on a vet-issued Veterinary Feed Directive Order (VFD order) to information required by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for a VFD order to be considered valid.

The VFDOC portal is the extension of a prior collaboration between CFRP, SAFE, and FARAD to develop the VFD Online Training program to assist the Feed Industry and its stakeholders in understanding the laws and regulations around collecting complete and accurate VFD orders prior to distributing VFD medicated feed to livestock producers. Both online resources are for educational purposes only and do not guarantee compliance with federal law. Click here to view FARAD’s website and gain access to the VFDOC portal, currently available for VFD orders written for cattle. Click here for information on the VFD Online Training.
