The Safe Animal Feed Education (SAFE) Program would like your input in prioritizing topics for outreach and education to the feed industry in 2025. SAFE fosters safe manufacturing and use of commercial feed and livestock drugs and voluntary compliance with state and federal laws and regulations through educational resources, trainings, and outreach programs. The anonymous survey below should take less than five minutes to complete. Your feedback will help SAFE focus its efforts in providing education and outreach in the topics that are most important to industry in 2025.

SAFE has made efforts to improve visibility of available educational resources through collaboration with the California Grain and Feed Association (CGFA) to provide regular articles and updates in CGFA’s weekly newsletter, “The Conveyor”. In 2024, SAFE provided the following outreach and education relevant to the most popular topics identified in the last survey:

- Began CFRP Focus on Feed Safety series blog posts, with the first article regarding heavy metals; CFRP Focus on Feed Safety; Heavy Metals.
- Commercial Feed Label Requirements
- Began Quarterly Tips for Commercial Feed Labeling series blog posts.
- Educational review of labels submitted to SAFE.
- Ingredients Safe and Approved for Feed
- How to Report Tonnage
- Released Spanish Versions of How-to Videos
- Mixer Efficiency, Sequencing, Flushing
- Food Safety Plan and Prerequisite Programs
- Hosted Preventive Controls Qualified Individual for Animal Food training with 22 participants in Modesto, CA.
- Provided individual food safety plan educational reviews.
