Registration Open for 2022 Irrigation and Nutrient Management Meeting

The University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE) is hosting the 2022 Irrigation and Nutrient Management Meeting virtually 7:55 a.m. to 12 p.m. (PT) February 23, 2022. Researchers from University of California, Central Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board, Salinas Valley Basin Groundwater Sustainability Agency, and Central Coast Water Quality Preservation Inc will discuss issues related to irrigation and nutrient management in vegetable crops and water quality regulations.

This year’s meeting agenda induces:

  • Nitrogen mineralization from organic fertilizers and composts
  • Weather-based irrigation scheduling for optimizing artichoke and cabbage
  • California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) Water Efficiency and Enhancement Program (SWEEP) and Healthy Soils Program (HSP)
  • Agricultural order 4.0
  • Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) in Salinas Valley
  • Update on using Polyacrylamide (PAM) for controlling sediment and pesticides in irrigation runoff

Continuing Education Units:

California Department of Pest Regulation (DPR): 1 unit (applied for)
Certified Crop Adviser (CCA): Nutrient Management (1), Soil and Water Management (2.5)
