Mattson<\/p>\n<p>Many of you saw our vertical garden at Ag Day and we\u2019ve been taking care of it all summer long and into the fall. We initially had many different types of plants in the vertical garden such as tomatoes and sweet peppers, but early in the summer we decided to repot some of them to give them more space to grow, and added some additional plants in their place.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_221\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.cdfa.ca.gov\/TalesFromTheField\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Vert-garden.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-221\" class=\"size-full wp-image-221\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.cdfa.ca.gov\/TalesFromTheField\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Vert-garden.jpg\" alt=\"Pipe and Soda Bottle Vertical Garden\" width=\"290\" height=\"387\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-221\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>Verticial garden on Ag Day (March 19,2014)<\/em><\/p><\/div>\n<p>In the vertical garden we added the herbs in place of where the tomatoes once were. We now have lavender, lemon thyme, oregano, sweet basil, cinnamon basil, lemon basil, pineapple sage, and bean plants. As did our herbs that grew our vertical garden! We take care of this garden in an urban setting, right outside our office building, and it shows how you don\u2019t have to have a lot of space in order to create something beautiful (and tasty) \u2013 anyone\u00a0can plant a garden at their\u00a0home, office, or school. \u00a0We have already posted about some of the school gardens sprouting up around California and are sure there will be more to come!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By: Fiona L.
