The conference is organized by the California Chapter of the American Society of Agronomy (CA ASA), which launched the annual event in 1972. Registration is now open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The annual conference provides a forum where students, professionals, and other attendees can enhance their knowledge of current topics of agronomic importance in California. Many Certified Crop Advisers and Pest Control Advisers attend the conference to earn continuing education units that are important to their professional standing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The agenda includes new items this year:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Two additional sessions with six speakers will be offered on Wednesday afternoon after the business lunch.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A student-mentor breakfast meeting will be held on Wednesday morning with round-table discussions over a shared meal to hear about mentors\u2019 experiences and career paths in agricultural science fields. It is a great opportunity to network and broaden perspectives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This year\u2019s conference will convene sessions covering the following topics:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Adapting agronomy to an uncertain future<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Precision agriculture<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nutrient management<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Micronutrients<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Animal-plant systems management<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Soil management<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>California Integrated Pest Management (IPM) toolbox<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pesticide resistance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bees and pollinators<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Groundwater recharge<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On-farm water management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to presentations on these topics, there will be an award ceremony to honor individuals who served the profession through their careers, a student poster competition, non-competitive professional posters, and the CA ASA business meeting.
