The conference is organized by the California Chapter of the American Society of Agronomy (CA ASA), which launched the annual event in 1972. Registration is now open through the conference website (<a href=\"https:\/\/calasa.ucdavis.edu\/\">https:\/\/calasa.ucdavis.edu\/<\/a>). The registration fee is $90 until January 25, 2022, after which it increases to $115. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The annual conference provides an opportunity for students, professionals, and other attendees to increase their scientific knowledge concerning the interrelationship of plants, soil, and the environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many Certified Crop Advisers and Pest Control Advisers attend the conference to earn continuing education units that are important to their professional standing. Central Valley farmers can earn California Department of Food and Agriculture Irrigation and Nitrogen Management credits, as well. This year\u2019s conference will convene sessions covering the following topics:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><em>Water Conservation<\/em><em><\/em><\/li><li><em>Crop Tolerance to Heat, Drought, and Deficit Irrigation<\/em><em><\/em><\/li><li><em>Current Issues in Weed Management<\/em><em><\/em><\/li><li><em>Hot Topics in Pest Management<\/em><em><\/em><\/li><li><em>Biostimulants<\/em><em><\/em><\/li><li><em>Irrigation<\/em><em><\/em><\/li><li><em>Soil Conservation<\/em><em><\/em><\/li><li><em>Nutrient Management<\/em><strong><em><\/em><\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to presentations on these topics, there will be a student \u201cLightning Talk\u201d competition, non-competitive student posters, and the organization\u2019s business meeting with an award ceremony for individuals who served the profession through their careers. The purpose of the annual meeting is to promote research, disseminate scientific information, foster high standards of educational and ethical conduct in the profession, and facilitate robust cooperation among organizations with similar missions. The conference is co-sponsored by Western Plant Health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The conference is planned and presented by a team of volunteer professional agronomists from research institutions, cooperative extension, public agencies, and private companies.
