This competitive grant program funds research that advances the environmentally safe and agronomically sound use of fertilizing materials.<\/p>\n<p>Funding availability is limited to proposals that address the following research and educational priorities:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The role of biochar in nutrient management of California soil-crop systems,<\/li>\n<li>Technical education and outreach for growers and agricultural staff, and<\/li>\n<li>Addressing challenges and barriers to improving management practices.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Applicants are invited to submit full proposals to the FREP by September 1, 2016.
