Soil Science Society of America International Soils Meeting @ Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina

The International Soils Meeting is one of the few gatherings that brings together scientific leaders from industry, government agencies, and academic institutions in one unique environment.

It’s the premiere opportunity for professionals working in the soil and environmentally related sciences to hear about the latest research, meet and learn from their peers, expand their knowledge base, and take advantage of an abundance of networking opportunities to enhance their career.

This year’s International Soils Meeting will feature many technical presentations, along with a host of networking events and award ceremonies. The exhibition displays the latest scientific equipment, supplies, services, and reference materials available.

Climate Action & Agriculture Symposium @ CSU San Marcos

Developing relevant policies, programs, strategies and resources to support sustainable agriculture throughout Southern California is contingent on understanding changing climate and its impact to the unique agricultural environments and industry in the region. This symposium is intended to bring together policy makers, government agencies, researchers, educators, consultants and other public and private agricultural service providers. National Grape Research Alliance Sensor Technology Workshop @ Embassy Suites, Sacramento

What?

The USDA’s Agricultural Research Service (ARS) and the National Grape Research Alliance (NGRA) are
partnering to produce the NGRA-ARS Sensor Technology Workshop to be held this fall in Sacramento, CA.
Join wine and grape industry principals to hear from scientists about the sensors
that support  grape-growing today (including the strengths and shortcomings of these offerings),
what’s in the research pipeline and what advances are on the horizon.
In this dynamic event, the scientists will gain valuable insight about sensor technologies, too,
from a panel of early-adopters, from industry attendees and from fellow researchers, as well.

The Center for Irrigation Technology will host its annual, Innovations in Ag Irrigation Technology Demonstration and Showcase on November 15, 2019!  This event brings together the latest in irrigation and water management technologies, highlighted by exhibitor displays in the WET Center as well as a tour of the University Farm Laboratory.  Exhibitors will have the chance to showcase their innovative irrigation products and speak directly to the attendees. Calculating the amount of water and Nitrogen applied to a vineyard is important for tracking inputs and improving efficiency. This webinar covers:

  • Soil and water analysis reports interpretation
    How to calculate total water applied from irrigation, frost protection, and rainfall
    How to calculate total nitrogen applied from fertilizer, compost, and water
