Cover Crop Field Workshop

Do you have questions on timing and methods for incorporating cover crop residue back into your soil? Or how to manage a cover crop through the spring and summer months?

Join the UC Cooperative Extension, Resource Conservation District of Santa Cruz County, USDA Agricultural Research Service, and Pajaro Valley growers at a cover crop field workshop. There you will share ideas with other growers and cover crop researchers on the benefits, challenges, and management strategies for including cover crop in many different production scenarios, including:

• Covered fallow rotations

• Management of cover crop in the spring and summer

• Cover cropping in the furrows in strawberry and vegetable systems

Groundwater Sustainability Plan Preparation Workshop @ Hilton Sacramento Arden West

A roll up your sleeves, partner with others, sweat the details workshop.  We will provide participants a series of applied, table top exercises designed to tackle some of the most compelling technical and policy challenges SGMA throws at us.  The day will start with a set of brief, critically important presentations to frame the subsequent workshop activities.  After a mid-morning break, participants will group together and with guidance from colleagues currently writing GSPs throughout the State, and with input from DWR SGMA technical staff, we will work through a set of exercises designed to mirror technical and planning challenges you will face in your basins.
