Citrus Growers Educational Seminar Series

The Citrus Research Board (CRB) is proud to announce the return of the Citrus Grower Seminar Series, co-produced by the University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE). Three different meeting dates and locations will give growers from different regions the opportunity to attend.

The FREE half-day seminars start at 8:30 AM and are expected to end at 12:00 PM. Registration will begin at 7:30 AM.

Continuing Education (CE) Units have been applied for and are pending approval through the California Department of Pesticide Regulation for license categories PCA, QAL and QAC.  Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) Units have also been applied for and are pending approval.

Organic Soil Fertility for Vegetables and Strawberries Short Course @ University of California Agricultural Center
Feb 12 @ 8:00 am – 4:00 pm

This short course will focus on the practical aspects of organic soil fertility management for fast-maturing leafy green vegetables and long-season strawberry production.

Topics will focus on the contribution of various sources of nitrogen for crop production, including mineralization from soil organic matter, release of inorganic nitrogen from organic fertilizers and composts, and the contribution of prior crop residues, cover crops, and irrigation water.

Growers, consultants, and those involved in organic soil fertility management will find this course valuable.

Spring Almond Nutrient and Water Management Field Day @ Modesto (19th) & Chico (26th)

Throughout the month of March three field days will be held to promote the adoption of improved nitrogen and irrigation management practices for almond growers in California. The field days will feature topics such as soil and water testing, tissue sampling, fertigation, orchard recycling, and management tools available to growers.

Citrus Water Use Workshop and Field Day @ Strathmore Veterans Memorial Building

Join UC Davis Irrigation Specialist Daniele Zaccaria as well as other water experts and specialists from the University of California Cooperative Extension, the California Department of Water Resources, and the Citrus Research Board to learn about research and advances in water use and irrigation for citrus production. Gain firsthand practical knowledge of the latest developments in the citrus industry and become familiar with methods and tools to measure evapotranspiration (ET) and crop coefficients (Kc), tree water status, and monitor soil moisture to inform irrigation planning and scheduling decisions for citrus.
