The two-day training was attended by 21 participants who successfully completed a Part 1 online training portion prior to attending the in-person interactive Part 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.cdfa.ca.gov\/CFRP\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/IMG_0429-1024x768.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-477\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.cdfa.ca.gov\/CFRP\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/IMG_0429-1024x768.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/blogs.cdfa.ca.gov\/CFRP\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/IMG_0429-300x225.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.cdfa.ca.gov\/CFRP\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/IMG_0429-768x576.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.cdfa.ca.gov\/CFRP\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/IMG_0429-1536x1152.jpeg 1536w, https:\/\/blogs.cdfa.ca.gov\/CFRP\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/IMG_0429-2048x1536.jpeg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Food Safety Modernization Act requires that certain activities must be completed by a \u201cpreventive controls qualified individual\u201d who has \u201csuccessfully completed training in the development and application of risk-based preventive controls or is otherwise qualified through job experience to develop and apply a food safety system.\u201d This course developed by the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA) is the \u201cstandardized curriculum\u201d recognized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA); successfully completing this course is one way to meet the requirements for a \u201cpreventive controls qualified individual.\u201d These courses are taught by Lead Instructors trained by the FSPCA, who have been instructed in how to teach the FDA-recognized standardized curriculum.
