I am responsible for sampling commercial feed (feed safety and routine samples), reviewing medicated and non-medicated feed labels and conducting violation follow-up inspections.&nbsp; I also conduct routine inspections at assigned firms annually. &nbsp;I am commissioned with United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to conduct Tissue Residue violation follow-up, Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE) investigations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) inspections as well. I also perform Restricted Livestock Drug and Veterinary Feed Directive inspections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How do you work for the California food supply?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I help ensure that the public is getting a wholesome supply of meat, milk and eggs, help ensure the feed suppliers and the purchasers are getting what they paid for, and follow-up on feed complaints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What do you enjoy most about your job?&nbsp;<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What I enjoy most about the job is being able to be out in the field and being able to travel to different areas of the state.
