The Safe Animal Feed Education (SAFE) Program would like your input in prioritizing topics for outreach and education to the feed industry in 2024. SAFE fosters safe manufacturing and use of commercial feed and livestock drugs and voluntary compliance with state and federal laws and regulations through educational resources, trainings, and outreach programs. The anonymous survey below should take less than 5 minutes to complete. Your feedback will help SAFE focus its efforts in providing education and outreach in the topics that are most important to industry in 2024. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This survey was also sent in 2022 to all listserv subscribers and resulted in 100 responses. Results of the survey can be found within the Spring 2023 Newsletter<\/a>. SAFE provided the following outreach and education relevant to six of the most popular topics identified in the last survey:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          1. Completed 50+ voluntary feed label reviews.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          2. Knowledge of Feed Safety Hazards (57% of participants)
            1. Published SAFE Feed Manufacturing Carryover Guidance<\/a>.<\/li><\/ol>
              1. Updated list of \u2018Animal Food Hazards Resources\u2019 on SAFE FSMA Webpage<\/a>.<\/li><\/ol>
                1. Published Annual Mycotoxin Report<\/a>.<\/li><\/ol>\n

                  1. Published Annual Sample Report<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                  2. Ingredients Safe and Approved for Feed (46% of participants)
                    1. Launched Feed and Feed Ingredients<\/a> webpage which houses approved feed ingredient lists.<\/li><\/ol>\n

                      1. Participated in AAFCO Ingredient Submission Process Training.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                      2. Environmental Regulations which Impact the Feed Industry (39%)
                        1. Presented at various industry conferences regarding Senate Bill 1383, by-products diversion, and enteric methane.<\/li><\/ol>
                          1. Several outreach documents on the Human Food Waste (By-product) Diversion Webpage<\/a>.<\/li><\/ol>\n

                            1. Helped with State of the Science Summit<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                            2. Food Safety Plans (35% of participants)
                              1. Updated guidance on How to Start a Food Safety Plan on SAFE FSMA Webpage<\/a>.<\/li><\/ol>
                                1. Provided educational review of food safety plan to three firms.<\/li><\/ol>\n

                                  1. Held Preventive Controls Qualified Individual Training in December 2022 with14 participants.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                                  2. How to Report Tonnage (33% of participants)
                                    1. Updated Inspection Tonnage Tax Reporting Guide<\/a>.<\/li><\/ol>
                                      1. Published video How to Report Commercial Feed Inspection Tonnage<\/a>.<\/li><\/ol>\n

                                        1. Published Guide to Voluntarily Report By-products Diverted to Animal Feed<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
