The\u00a0California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) announces Jenna Leal has been appointed Branch Chief of the Feed, Fertilizer and Livestock Drugs Regulatory Services (FFLDRS) Branch<\/a> of the Division of Inspection Services<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leal joined CDFA in 2006 as a FFLDRS field inspector in the Central Valley and worked with both the feed and fertilizer indus\u00adtries in one of California\u2019s most productive agriculture regions. She then led FFLDRS\u2019 Commercial Feed Regulatory Program (CFRP) in various capacities, including serving as a program supervisor and specialist, as the program evolved and expanded its legisla\u00adtive authority over the years. In 2018, Leal began serving as the Environmental Program Manager I of FFLDR\u2019s Commercial Feed Regulatory Program, Livestock Drugs, Safe Animal Feed Education and Antimicrobial Use and Steward\u00adship programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leal graduated with a bache\u00adlor\u2019s degree in Dairy Science and Agriculture Business from Califor\u00adnia Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. She was a member of the World Champion Intercollegiate Dairy Cattle Judg\u00ading Team and served as an ac\u00adtive member of the Future Farm\u00aders of America prior to college.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leal\u2019s leadership and manage\u00adment of several multi-disciplinary, sensitive and complex programs within the Division of Inspection Services has offered her expe\u00adrience in executing high-impact regulatory strategies, including focus on policy and emerging issues, science-based decision making, streamlining program ef\u00adficiencies, and maintaining open communication and collabora\u00adtion with CDFA leadership, local, state and federal partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
